Soul Warming Thai Soups: A Hands-On Aromatic Workshop
with Chef Michael of Gai & I Thai BBQ
Think of Thai aromatics as the pantry staples of the whole cuisine. In this 60 minute, hands-on workshop, Chef Michael shows you how to get the most flavor out of them and how to find that famous Thai balance of spicy, sour, salty, and sweet.
What we’ll cook
We’ll build a master stock, then deepen it with Nam Prik Pao, a roasted chili paste. From there we’ll turn those bases into two vegan classics, Tom Yum and Tom Kha. Each soup is a mix of traditional Thai technique and local Boulder ingredients.
What you’ll take home
The know-how and confidence to recreate both soups in your own kitchen
A portion of each soup to enjoy after class
Good to know
Cost: $50
Length: about 60 minutes
Format: hands-on, standing around a shared cooking table
Small group, so everyone gets a turn at the stove
